
Driven by wild, wiry, engaging front-man Lee Mangan, south London
four-piece Steranko have been leaving audiences up and down the
country in awe with their blistering live shows.
With influences ranging from AC/DC and The Doors to Queens Of The
Stone Age and The Black Keys, their live performances and stand-out
tracks like Burns Deep, socio-political anthem Zapatista and heart-rending
Breathing, Steranko have to be seen to be believed.
Formed in 2002, Steranko have played a host of shows around the
UK and even a short tour of Los Angeles were they played venues
such as The Whisky-A-Go-Go and The Cat Club on Sunset Boulevard,
where they received rave reviews.
In May 2003, Chemicals was released on the 'Top 20 UK Unsigned'
compilation (TBA/Virgin). To promote the album, Steranko became
the first ever unsigned band to play at London's Virgin Megastore
in Oxford Street. The band also played at Manchester music bash,"In
The City' in September 2003 and will be performing there again in
2004.
Steranko recently signed to indie label Fruit Pie Records and have
just finished recording their forthcoming album with legendary producer
Nick Tauber (Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Toyah Wilcox, Marillion).
Their first single, The Decision, is scheduled for release on 18th
October 2004 with an album, titled Culturephrenia, to follow in
FEB 2005.
